For our client, an international banking group delivering advanced financial and regulatory solutions, we are currently looking for Candidates for the position of Senior Data Engineer.


Work mode: hybrid – Gdańsk (3 days/week from the office)
Compensation: 150-160 PLN/h net
Contract type: B2B
Start Date: ASAP
English: B2/C1



Project and Role Overview:

You will join a regulatory-driven project focused on developing a reporting solution aligned with national credit register requirements. The role involves working with large-scale data processing systems in a complex banking environment. You will collaborate with both technical and business teams, translating business requirements into efficient data solutions.


Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain data processing solutions in a distributed environment
  • Translate business requirements into scalable data solutions
  • Work with large datasets using Hadoop, Spark and SQL
  • Support production systems and resolve complex data-related issues (L3)
  • Collaborate with technical teams and Production Assurance
  • Ensure effective communication between technical and business teams


Key Requirements:

  • Strong experience with data engineering and distributed data processing
  • Ability to understand and translate complex business requirements into efficient SQL solutions
  • Experience with L3 production support and collaboration with Production Assurance teams
  • Strong communication skills and ability to explain technical (SQL/data) topics to business stakeholders


Core Technical Skills:

  • Hands-on experience with Apache Hadoop and Apache Spark
  • Strong expertise in SQL-based data transformation
  • Experience with workflow orchestration tools (Airflow or Oozie)
  • Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines (Git, PR workflows, Jenkins)
  • Experience with Kafka or other event-driven architectures


Nice to have:

  • Experience in the banking or financial sector
  • Familiarity with regulatory or reporting projects
