Must-Have Technical Expertise
- Meraki SD-WAN – Multi-site deployments, templates, policy configuration, routing integration.
- Cisco Networking – Catalyst, Nexus, ISR/ASR, enterprise WLAN, Cisco ISE.
- Routing & Switching: BGP, OSPF, MPLS, VRFs, LACP, VLANs, STP, QoS

Firewalls:
- Check Point (strong hands-on)
- Meraki MX (advanced)
- Fortigate/Palo Alto exposure (nice to have)

Tools & Automation:
- Visio, Lucidchart
- Wireshark, packet capture analysis
- Python, Ansible, YAML templates
- Automation-focused mindset

Diagnostic Expertise:
- Log analysis
- Firewall rule evaluation
- Packet analysis
- Root-cause troubleshooting

Experience & Soft Skills
- 5-12+ years of hands-on network engineering in enterprise or MSP/GSI environments.
- Strong customer-facing communication skills; able to explain concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Ability to work independently and handle multiple concurrent high-priority tasks.
- Exceptional documentation skills and attention to detail.
- Comfortable in fast-paced, high-pressure environments with tight timelines.

Certifications
- CCNP (preferred), CCNA (required)
- Cisco SD-WAN specialist certification (highly valued)
- Check Point CCSA/CCSE (asset)Meraki CMNA/CMNP (asset)

Role Overview
You are a senior, hands-on network engineer with deep experience across Cisco, Meraki, Check Point, SD-WAN, and enterprise routing/switching. You are comfortable operating in complex, multi-site, multi-vendor environments where accuracy and speed matter. You can:
- Architect, implement, troubleshoot, and document solutions
- Communicate clearly with customers and internal teams
- Own deployments end-to-end
- Analyze logs, interpret packet captures, and build rules based on findings
- Create diagrams, automate repetitive tasks, and work with global delivery teams
- Thrive in a fast-paced environment supporting enterprise customers

Core Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end deployments and configurations of Meraki SD-WAN and Cisco SD-WAN architectures.
- Design and implement secure enterprise networks, including routing, switching, wireless, segmentation, and firewall integrations.
- Architect, configure, and troubleshoot:
- BGP, OSPF, VRFs, routing policy design
- Cisco ISE (NAC, profiling, posture, 802.1X)
- Cisco WLAN (controllers, APs, RF design, optimization)
- Check Point firewalls (rules, NAT, VPN, troubleshooting)
- Meraki networks (MX, MS, MR, SD-WAN, dashboard automation)
- Analyze traffic flows using packet captures, Wireshark, and firewall logs to identify issues and create/adjust firewall rules.
- Build detailed network diagrams, topology maps, runbooks, and technical documentation using Visio or Lucidchart.
- Perform advanced troubleshooting across LAN, WAN, WLAN, VPN, SD-WAN, and hybrid cloud environments.
- Collaborate with Senior/Lead Architects on design validation and architectural governance.
- Participate in customer workshops and planning sessions, articulating technical decisions and trade-offs.
- Provide escalation support during major incidents, critical cutovers, and high-impact projects.
- Ensure best practices, standardized configurations, and security frameworks are consistently applied.

Automation & Scripting
- Develop scripts (Python, PowerShell, or Ansible) to automate configuration, audits, and deployment tasks.
- Contribute to reusable configuration templates, automated workflows, and network-as-code initiatives.
- Assist in implementing CI/CD-style approaches for network configuration management.

Leadership & Collaboration
- Work closely with PMs, engineers, and security teams to ensure seamless project delivery.
- Mentor intermediate engineers and participate in technical design reviews.
- Evaluate emerging networking technologies and contribute to Jolera’s strategic roadmap.
