RTR Senior Subject Matter Expert

RTR/GL Senior Accountant
For the ISS Global Finance Service Centre in Gdańsk, we are looking for an experienced RTR Senior Subject Matter Expert who will deliver front‑office Record to Report services to the UK business.

Main Purpose of the Position
The role focuses on overseeing journal entries and cost allocations, performing and approving balance sheet reconciliations, and ensuring the accuracy and integrity of the general ledger. The Senior SME plays a key role in month‑end close, accounting quality assurance, audit support, and handling complex post‑close queries, while promoting best practices and supporting continuous process improvement across RTR activities.

Main responsibilities:
  • Ensure accurate cost allocation and posting of journal entries for the UK business
  • Review and approve month‑end journals, accruals, and balance sheet reconciliations
  • Support and resolve complex RTR queries, acting as a point of escalation for the team
  • Monitor open transactions and data quality across key systems (e.g. Concur, Coupa, Maximo, Navision)
  • Support month‑end close, reporting activities, and accounting controls (Controls Hub)
  • Handle audit requests and ensure compliance with UK and Group accounting policies
  • Support the RTR Team Lead with reporting, process improvements, and Lean initiatives
  • Maintain and improve process documentation and participate in special projects
Professional Skills:
  • University degree in Finance / Accounting (preferred)
  • Part‑qualified accounting certification (ACCA / ACA / CIMA) is an advantage
  • 3+ years of RTR or financial accounting experience
  • Experience in a Shared Service Centre or multi‑site organization
  • Strong accounting knowledge across GL, AP, and AR
  • Experience or knowledge of Navision is preferred
  • Intermediate to advanced MS Excel skills
